Project outline:
An innovative way to renovate and refresh social housing blocks was required. Not only did the cladding have to perform aesthetically, it also had to bring the living accommodation up to more modern thermal building standards within the right budget.
Challenges:
With all construction happening in a largely residential area, time and disruption on site had to be minimised.
Solution:
Specification of the RF50 Rainscreen product allowed us to provide a fully insulated cladding solution that dramatically reduced energy loss and completely transformed the exterior of the building. Using a building survey and laser measurements, we were able to produce dimensionally accurate panels that were produced to tight tolerances off-site and then quickly installed on-site. By fixing the mullion directly to the building, we could build upon it vertically, bringing minimal disturbance to the surrounding area.
